The Arctic Wolf can be found in the Arctic Circle, or places like Northern Canada, Northern Alaska, and parts of Greenland, Iceland and Northern Europe. An Arctic Wolf hunts on lemmings, arctic hare, assorted rodents, and the occasional caribou depending on availability. They typically take shelter in rock outcroppings, or caves, due to the permafrost soil. Arctic Wolf pups are born in litters of two or three in the summer and spring months.

Snowy Owls are circumpolar, meaning they range in the location they live in due to migration. They can be found in Arctic Canada, Greenland, and Northern Eurasia. Female owls tend to have more barred markings than the male owls. Snowy Owls hunt on small tundra rodents such as Arctic Hares and Lemmings. They also prey on other smaller birds like ducks and gulls. A Snowy Owl starts nesting in mid-May and lays up to 15 eggs, depending on the abundance of the food supply. The male brings the female food while she incubates the eggs for 32-33 days.
Polar Bears

Polar Bears are a very important species in the tundra. They are an endangered species and have found various ways of adapting to the harsh climate conditions in the tundra. Polar Bears can be found wandering from the Arctic Ocean to southern limits of ice floes. Polar Bears typically hang around ice floes so they can feast on their favorite snack, seals. They will occasionally eat off of whale carcasses or walruses. Since most Polar Bears make their habitats on ice floes, global warming has a huge impact on their habitats. Many have become endangered due to global warming melting their habitats, pollution, and oil drilling. These Polar Bears have been able to adapt to the cold environment by having thick white fur, black skin that retains heat, extra fat for insulation, short ears that minimize heat loss, and big claws for wandering through snow and ice.
